Do last place nba teams ever lose on purpose?

..when theres no chance to make the playoffs. You would think teams like the grizzlies or suxxers would just tank it for better draft picks but i never seen it.

No, they don't lose on purpose, and here's why: You would think the GMs might want them to lose toward the end of the season if the team is doing terribly awful and they want a #1 draft pick. BUT, that's what the GM wants. The players on that last place team don't want to lose. Getting a really high draft pick player means less playing time next year for them AND they will have less opportunity to develop into a truly good basketball player.

It's happened before. That's how Spurs got Duncan.
trust me, no team wants to lose in front of hundreds of fans.

so, no i don't think they lose on purpose.
I would hope that teams do not do that, but isn't it suspicious how the Cavs just happened tho have the worst record in the league the year Lebron was coming out in the draft. Makes you ponder doesn't it.
No they try their hardest. Because if they keep losing then they get fired.
I don't think they lose on purpose, nobody likes to lose. But I don't think that they give as much effort as they usually would.
thats why the NBA has a lottery so teams have no guarantee that if they tank it, they will get the 1st overall pick.. the worst team has a 25% chance of getting tha 1st overall pick
THE LOTTERY WAS INITIATED TO STOP TEAMS FROM GOING IN THE TANK ON PURPOSE.
